The short version

You do not need an account to use CyMEC. Courses, resources and the safety checkup run in your browser, and the answers you give a checkup are not sent to us. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send through the contact form, and we do not sell it.

What we collect

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or location in order to read a course, open a resource, or use a tool.

The checkup and the interactive tools on this site run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter into them is transmitted to a CyMEC server.

Contact Form Information

If you contact us through our website contact form, we may collect the information you provide, including your name (if supplied), email address, and message. This information is used to respond to your inquiry and consider suggestions or feedback.

Contact form submissions are processed through Google Forms and stored in the associated Google account and response spreadsheet. Google may process information as part of providing its services, subject to its applicable privacy policies.

Please do not submit passwords, financial information, or other sensitive personal information through the contact form.

Analytics

This site may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not track individual visitors across sites. Aggregate, anonymized page view data helps us understand which resources are most useful.

Cookies

CyMEC does not set tracking cookies. Cloudflare, as our hosting provider, may set technical cookies necessary for security and performance. These are not used for advertising.

Third-party services

Pages on this site load fonts from Google Fonts. Google may collect limited technical data as part of that request. No third-party donation service is linked from this site.

The contact form on the Contact page is embedded from Google Forms. Loading the form and submitting a response are handled by Google under Google's own privacy terms, which may include cookies set by Google.

Children

Our courses and resources are designed for use by families, including children under 13. Reading a course or using a tool requires no account and no personal information. The contact form is not intended for children to submit on their own; if a child wants to get in touch, a parent or guardian should send the message. If you believe a child has sent personal information through the contact form, let us know using the same form and we will look into it.

Your rights

Because the site does not require an account, there is no profile of you to access, correct, or delete. If you have sent a message through the contact form and want to know what we hold, or want it corrected or removed, contact us using the form and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform grows. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
